The aim of this study is to determine the existence and relationship between intra-family abuse and neglect and hopelessness and there is a difference or not between intra-family abuse and neglect and hopelessness according to the personal information. The survey employs the scanning model. The subjects of this research indculde 141 university students from first and second grade of Boğaziçi, Istanbul and Marmara Universities. Data were obtained by using Personel Information Form, Child Abuse Scale and Beck Hopelessness Scale. Statistical analysis of data were done by using SPSS programme in computer. The results of the research are as follows: The hopolessness levels of students are differing accoring to the age of mother and being to mother or step mothers of the subjects. Students' Intra-Family Child Abuse Scale's Multi-way Abuse dimension scores are differing according to the gender, the age of father,, the number brother and sister, the educational level of mother, if mother and father live together or not, the existance of a person who has a long period sickness in the family. Growing up and Education Abuse dimension scores are differing according to the gender, the number of brother and sister, the order of birth, if mother and father live together or not, the educationel level of mother and father, if the subjects and their mothers work or not, the economical level of family, the existance of a person who has a long period sickness in the family. Support of Growing up dimension scores are differin according to the gender, the age, the schoolwhere the subjects receive education, the number of brother and sister, the order of birth, the educationel level of mother and father, if the subjects and their fathers work or not, the economical level of family, the existance of a person who has a long period sickness in the family, the existance of a person who has a alcahol problem in the family. Unsuitable Rules and Support dimension scores are differing according to the gender, the school where the subjects receive education, the number of brother and sister, the educational level of mother and father, if the subjects and their mothers work or not, the economical level of family, the existance of a person who has a long period sickness in the family. Sexuel Abuse dimension scores are differing according to the number brother and sister, being to mother or step mother, ifthe mother and father live together or not, the educational level of mother and father, if mother and father work or not. Physical Abuse dimension scores are differing according to the gender, the number of brother and sister, if mother and father live together or not, the educational level of mother and father, if the mother works or not, the economical level of the family, the existance of a person who has a long period sickness in the family, the existance of a person who has a alcahol problem in the family, interference to individuality dimension scores are differing according to the gender, the age, the number of brother and sister, the school where the subjects receive education, the order of birth, if the mother and father live together or not, the educational level of mother and father, if the subjects work or not, the economical level of the family, the existance of a person who has a long period sickness in the family.. General Abuse dimension scores are differing according to the gender, the age, the number of brother and sister, the school where the subjects receive education, the order of birth, if the mother and father live together or not, the educational level of mother and father, if the subjects work or not, the economical level of the family, the existance of a person who has a long period sickness in the family. There is a significant relationship between ignore dimension and hopolessness level of the adolasance. The research hopes that this study wiil support the researches in this field and also make contribution to prevent child abuse.
