This study is aimed to determine correlation between depression and young males with obesity Methods: A total of 157 subjects (66 young male with obesity and 91 healthy young male) between 18-30 year-old participated in this study. Zung depression scale (ZDS) was used for evaluation of depression severity while statistical analysis was performed with the use of pearson correlation coefficient and t-test. Results: Mean age of obesity and control group was 22.6±3.5 and 22.4±2.7 mean body mass index (BMI) of obesity and control group was 35.7±2.3 kg/mÇ and 23±2.5 kg/mÇ respectively. Mean score of ZDS was 51±10 in obesity group and 45±10 in control group. The difference between two group was statistically significiant (p<0.01).There was a significiant correlation (r:0.225,T:0.005) between ZDS and BMI in all subjects. Conclusion: In our study we determined that depressive symptoms are more often and there is logical correlation BMI and severity depression in young male subjects with obesity. It is important to consider depressive symptoms in holistic evaluation of obesity
