The main purpose of this study is to bring up the perceptions and expectations of students about the quality of education programmes and how successfull the Police Academy is at targets which is stated at its Law. The questionnaire which is used in this study is administered to the students of the Police Academy in 1987-1988 academic year. The questionnaire has four subtitles which include 66 different questions in total. Substitles are : (a) Content of the courses/curriculum, (b) Efficiency of instructors, (c) Facilities of the School and (d) Extra - Curriculum Activities and Relations with other Schools. The all students have been participated to the inquiry but the second part of it has been carried out with the third, the fourth and the private class students who were more familiar with the Academy. The uniformity in their responses to the items in the questionnaire indicates that they have an idea how a Police Administrator should be and the type of education should be given to him. In the studies related to the Academy it is advised that it should be taken account of the perceptions and the expectations of the students as a basic findings. VI As a conclusion; those recommendations mentioned below are emphasized in this study : - The number of courses should be reduced and the ones which over-lap should be consolidated. - A guide book covering vast area police functions should be prepared and distributed to the newly graduates as well as the ones already working. - Student-Administrator-Teacher relationships should be made functional somehow. - Decision about the number of students should be made on the basis of the needs of the Police Organization only, excluding any political or administrative interference from outside.
