Contemporary developments for each step, made teacher training inevitable to be done by university education. As a result of this development, the programmes of the primary schools which trains teachers to the primary education step, has started to be changed into academic high school programmes. By this way, these schools has been called "Teacher High School". Teacher High Schools in the system, provide students to the universities which traines teachers, make their students love their jobs and lead students to this field. In order to reach their objectives, in it's programme; Introduction to Educa tion, Education Psychology, Instruction principles and methods entitles. Besides there has been made lot's of arrangements to stimulate the students and to make it easier for them to study at the universities which traines teachers. One of the most important measures of these highschools in confirming their objectives, is the behaviour end manner diffe rences they could make on the students. However Can these Teacher High Schools fulfill their functions which are stated in their objectives "to provide students for the universities which trains teachers, make their students love their jobs and lead their students to this field". With some inquiries they tried to find out an answer to the question and the choice list of the students at the University exam. The Inquiry submits a descriptive quality. In order to assamble data an interview has been prepared and applied to the students of four Teacher Highschool's. The data obtained has been found out by overviewing; the reasons of the students choosing the school and their knowledge about the schools objectives. Besides, by using the statistics of ÖSYM and Education Ministry, the universities to which the graduates of Teacher Highschools attended on 1990 has been found out. Data obtained has been appraised by tables and graphics. We can summarise the results obtained after the work done. Most of the studens of the Teacher Highschools attended the school by their own desicions. However, it has been seen that these students don't have an extended idea of the schools objectives. If we consider that their choices were shaped by their desires their top two choices are Law and Social Sciences. In their choices "Teacher Training Universities" are at the end of their list. So, there cames the result that these highschools cannot lead their students to a higher education on the same field. In order to confirm their objectives, these highschools should give importance to related lessons and activities for 1 eading the students to the field. Besides, increasing the status and economic power of the teachers, will make abenefitable effect on the students. Since 1990 the convertion of "Teacher Highschools" into "Anatolian Teacher Highschool" step by step, brought out the needs for new metarials and instructor staff. These needs must be met as soon as possible for the sake of a quality education.
