The thesis namely generation gap in the novel of 1923-1940 consist of six chapters each of wich is classified in accordance with the causes is contained. In the introduction chapter, the appeariny of the novel in Turkish literature, its development and how the phenomen of conflict moved parallel with this development was examined In the second chapter of thesis, the conflicts depending on time variations haye been examined. We divided this chapter into two in itself. In the firs part we examined the gap observed between the youngs and the olds. At the second part we examined the gap between the supporters of the new order whic was aimed to be acquired to the society and the old order. In the third chapter of thesis the conflict was depended on the variation of place. Some provinces and cities depending on the cours of the westernization of Turkish society, in spite og others showed then sing of change in the earlier times. The conflict in the fourth chapter depended on the role which the person has take, in the social life. We divided in this chapter into to four parts and conflicts was depended on variation of situation, variation of role, variation of value, variation of economic. At the four part as the probability of solving the problem vanished away, gunfire conflict where the solution has been found in the gun and force was studied. The fifth chapter of thesis contain ethnic conflicts depending on religion and nationality variations. In tpe last chapter of thesis, we analysed the psychological cofnlicts. These conflicts became true by depending upon the fact that either an individual gets effected by two different cultural world and personal crisis he is in because of that the cannot make synthesis the factor he gets in these two worlds. There is a contradiction between the fact which the individual fall into coflict and the fact of thing or the environment. The individual, usually tries to survive in this contradictional wold.
